GM,
It’s Chris.
If you’re anything like me, making more money is always a good thing, it’s the whole reason you and I started service based businesses.
We've both hit that wall at one point or another though, where we feel like our company is “capped”, like it can’t possibly make more money.
Your client list is full and you cannot take on anymore.
How do you get around that? Obviously you can hire more hands, but there’s another option to be considered.
Ask for more.
Now before you get ahead of me, I’m not inviting you to go to your clients and say “hey, prices are going up”, what I’m suggesting is that you offer more to them with your service.
Say you’re a Landscaper, and you take care of an existing client's lawn mowing, offer to keep their trees in check too. Pruning the low hanging or ugly looking branches and making their property look eeeeven better!
For a fee of course.
Now, you may be thinking to yourself “Chris, we’re already fully booked, how can you say that we need to do more than we already do!?”
That’s not what I’m getting at, the easiest people to sell to are the ones who’ve already bought from you. Some of your clients have the full package, others don’t.
It’s the ones that don’t get the full scope of your service that we’re looking to upsell.
You’ve proven your worth with your more lower end packages, now you can scale those clients up to the good stuff.
Money for the taking, go get it my friend.
Talk soon.
-Chris
